Let's play a game called "Guess Who Overcommitted Herself to Books." I'll give you one hint who that person is... and yes, it's me. I'm currently reading ALL OF THESE. 📖The Book Thief by @markuszusak is the book I just started with my 8th graders, and they're LOVING it! There's no greater feeling than when your students say that they "actually like" something and beg to read more as a class. 📖Then we have Ask Again, Yes by @marybethkeane which is what @pattyisbooked and I chose as our book club pick for January. I'm almost done, loving it, and can't wait to share my review with y'all! 📖The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by @johnboyne is the book I'm reading with my 7th graders. They're loving Bruno's innocence, and they're probably a little upset that they're working on a midterm today instead of reading... oops. 📖I'm also reading The Nightingale by @kristinhannahauthor as a buddy read with one of my 8th graders (hello, Sophia). She's in class with another teacher and their assignment was to choose a historical fiction book to read for an independent project, so we're buddy reading together! 📖... and lastly we have The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. This book was recommended to me by one of my husband's friends. It's good... it's long... but it's really good. I've been reading this one at home and listening to it on audio on my drive to and from work. The narrator @dpittu is fantastic if you're looking for a new audio recommendation.
