The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne (#24 in 2020)ā£ā£

Bruno and Shmuel, a German boy and a Jewish boy respectively, become friends from opposite sides of a fence. Their innocence allows them to form a friendship that would otherwise be frowned upon during the 1940s. This book is about how children can teach much more about kindness than adults care to admit.ā£ā£

I actually recommend this book for my parents. I do so because it is on a serious topic and it is an awesome, mood changing and eventful book. The fact that there was so many events in the story made me love it so much. It made me like the book even more because we were all sitting there with goosebumps and shocked. 5 - Emma āļøāļøāļøāļøāļøā£ā£

I would give this book a 5 star rating because I really liked everything that had to do with it. Iā€™d also give the movie a rating. Iā€™d give it a 4 1/2 because not everything that happened in the book happened in the movie. Overall the movie and book are both great things to watch and read and I recommend both of them. - Jack āļøāļøāļøāļøāļøā£ā£

I liked it because it shows you what it was like for a young boy to move away from his old home to his new home. Also this shows what went on in the concentration camps. I would definitely recommend this book to other schools so they can read it with their classes. They could read it as their online school reading book and read it on Zoom. 4 - Tyler āļøāļøāļøāļøā£ā£

I liked how two kids from different views of whats happening were still getting along and having a good relationship. This shows how people with differences, like how Bruno was a Nazi's son and Shumel was a Jewish boy, can still get along in dark times. The book was written very well but the missing half star was from the book becoming very sad at the end. 4.5 - PJ āļøāļøāļøāļøšŸ’«ā£ā£

I really liked the plot of the story how the main character's father was a Nazi soldier. I feel like a lot of World War 2 books put in a perspective of a Jew. So it felt like this book was different in a way. I liked the way John Boyne ended the book. You get to come up with what you think happened. 4.5 - Isabella āļøāļøāļøāļøšŸ’«
