Dear Ijeawele, or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (#107 in 2019)
My book buddy, @itsabookishworld_ recommended this one, so I ran out and got it immediately. It's a short book, only 63 pages, but it really packs a punch. In this book, Chimamanda writes a letter to her friend who recently had a baby girl. Her friend, Ijeawele, asked for advice on how to raise her daughter to be a strong, independent female. Chimamanda's advice comes in the form of "fifteen suggestions." The suggestions are told in beautiful, honest ways including small anecdotes. It was a pleasure to read this empowering letter from one friend to another. 3.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
